Alexander Fuglesang is an ocean technology entrepreneur and Founder and CEO of Flocean, a Norwegian company developing subsea desalination systems designed to produce fresh water from the deep sea.

With a background in business, venture capital, advanced pumping systems and industrial engineering, Alexander has spent years working at the intersection of technology and some of the world’s biggest infrastructure challenges. His work combines a practical engineering mindset with a clear focus on water security.

At Flocean, he is helping bring subsea desalination to commercial scale by using natural ocean pressure to reduce the energy needed to turn seawater into drinking water. In 2025, Flocean’s subsea desalination plant was named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of the year.
