The concepts TED and TEDx are a suite of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances that are idea-focused, and cover a wide range of subjects to foster learning, inspiration and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter.
All TEDx events present multiple issues and a diversity of voices from many disciplines. After all, what’s the fun without a little variety?
A TEDx event is organized by volunteers from the local community, and just like TED events, it lacks any commercial, religious or political agenda. Its goal is to spark conversation, connection and community.
Are you new in town, or just want to expand your existing network? Then this is the place to be!
Through other volunteers, partners, speakers and contributors, several of our volunteers have managed to connect in a way that has given them a job, a novel idea, motivation and inspiration to start their own business, or just simply a new and exciting outlook in life.
These opportunities come only from people being open and generous – and we have plenty of these in our midst.
Whether you are an organizer, photographer, HR coordinator, carpenter, designer, construction worker or just excel as a people person, there’s always a place for you in TEDxArendal.
We love the fact that so many of our volunteers have connected outside the event, building great friendships that will last for a lifetime, attending get-togethers, Christmas parties and even weddings.
There is really something to say about working together towards a common goal – it builds trust, a sense of belonging, and such joy when we reach (and transcend!) the goals we set for ourselves.
Our community consists of a wide variety of people with a common interest: to create something fun and meaningful, challenging and rewarding.
With laughter, determination, creativity and innovation, our crew are fearless in their problem solving!
