Menopause is often treated as a private struggle. Dr. Marianne Natvik believes it’s a conversation we all need to have.
In her talk on November 7, Marianne she brings knowledge, empathy, and optimism to a life stage too often marked by silence and stigma. In her talk, she will show how understanding menopause can empower both women and everyone around them.
Marianne Natvik is a dedicated general practitioner with a profound commitment to women’s health, particularly focusing on menopause. She has worked for several years in hospitals with women’s health and as a general practitioner in Oslo.
Her mission is to enhance care for women in midlife by fostering open conversations about this significant life stage. With a balanced approach that respects the challenges while promoting a sense of optimism, she emphasizes that this is a time where women influence their lives, and encourages seeking help when needed.
Marianne holds lectures for general practitioners, healthcare professionals, workplaces, and women themselves, firmly believing that knowledge sharing is crucial in normalizing the conversation around menopause.
In the fall of 2024, she will publish her book, Overgangskraft (Transition Power), which encapsulates her insights and strategies for navigating the midlife experience. Additionally, she actively engages with her audience on social media through her account @drmariannenatvik.
As a researcher at the University of Oslo, Marianne investigates women’s information needs related to menopause. She also provides support to women experiencing menopause at the clinic Sex og Samfunn in Oslo, further contributing to her mission of improving women’s health during this transformative period.
