What if your willpower alone could control a robotic exoskeleton for your arm? In this powerful talk, Saeid Hosseini shares an emotional journey inspired by childhood friendship, fueled by user feedback, and brought to life through cutting-edge technology. Featuring a live demonstration of the world’s first mobile exoskeleton for the entire arm, this talk reveals how willpower, human connection, and innovation can empower people with upper limb disabilities to reclaim their independence.
Saeid Hosseini was born in Tehran, Iran, and moved to Norway in 2011 to join his father, a human rights activist who sought political asylum. Grateful for the opportunities that Norway and the democratic world provided his family, Saeid is driven by a deep desire to make positive contributions globally.
In 2020, at the age of 24, he co-founded Vilje Bionics alongside a professor in robotics, a neurologist, and two fellow students. As CEO, Saeid leads the company in developing the world’s first full-arm assistive device for people with arm paresis, combining shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand support in one innovative system.
With a background in engineering, entrepreneurship, and politics, Saeid is passionate about impact-driven technological and social innovations. His vision is to create a world where technology bridges physical limitations, empowering individuals to live independently and pursue their dreams.
